We prove a de Finetti theorem for exchangeable sequences of states on test spaces, where a test space is a generalization of the sample space of classical probability theory and the Hilbert space of quantum theory. The standard classical and quantum de Finetti theorems are obtained as special cases.

The standard classical and quantum de Finetti theorems are obtained as special cases. De Finetti stayed at the University of Rome until his retirement in 1976. He died in Rome on July 20, 1985. De Finetti provided significant contributions to the theory and foundation of probability, both from methodological and philosophical points of view. Probability is our guide.

De Finetti’s theory of probability is one of the foundations of Bayesian theory. De Finetti stated that probability is nothing but a subjective analysis of the likelihood “The theory of chance consists in reducing all the events of the same kind to a certain number of cases equally possible, that is to say, to such as we may be equally undecided about in regard to their existence, and in determining the number of cases favorable to the event whose probability is sought. De Finetti’s theory of probability is one of the foundations of Bayesian theory. De Finetti stated that probability is nothing but a subjective analysis of the likelihood that something will happen and that that probability does not exist outside the mind. Good, I. J. It is the rate at which a person is willing to bet on something happening. Probabilism: A Critical Essay on the Theory of Probability and on the Value of Science. Finetti Bruno De - 1989 - Erkenntnis 31 (2-3):169 - 223. In de Finetti’s theory, bets are for money, so your probability of an event is effectively the price that you are willing to pay for a lot-tery ticket that yields 1 unit of money if the event occurs and nothing otherwise. De Finetti used the notation ‘Pr’ to refer interchangeably It proceeds from a detailed discussion of the philosophical mathematical aspects to a detailed mathematical treatment of probability and statistics.

De Finetti's treatise on the theory of probability begins with the provocative statement PROBABILITY DOES NOT EXIST, meaning that probability does not exist in an objective sense. Rather, probability exists only subjectively within the minds of individuals. De Finetti’s theory of probability is one of the foundations of Bayesian theory.
